On swiping between days, it's actually something we've thought about. We decided to keep day changes deliberate for now, so tapping on a day (or tapping the big date in the top left to pull up the monthly view) is the current way to navigate.
That said, I totally get the appeal of swiping and we'll definitely keep it in mind as we keep refining the inbox.
For task history, good news, that one already exists! I attached an image to show you. From your inbox, open the filter menu and tap "show completed" and you'll be able to look back on everything you've finished.
